Crystal clear water and incredible views

Herceg Novi (Херцег Нови) is a town at the entrance of the Boka Gulf (Boka Kotorska, Бока Которска). Mild Mediterranean climate, crystal clear sea water, long beaches, rich flora and fauna, are the reasons having an unforgettable vacation at the Herceg Novi Riviera.

The town was founded 625 years ago by the Bosnian king Tvrtko I in 1382 who started to build the famous castle Forte Mare to protect the bay of Boka from pirates and intruders.

A few years ago the tourist brochures stated that Herceg Novi (Херцег Нови) was “a stone picture and a master piece of civilization, but it is also a marvelous botanic garden”. It has existed for seven centuries. Its dense Mediterranean greenery, unusual scenery is mostly the result of generations of seamen bringing and planting the seeds of palms, oleanders, eucalyptus, agaves, cactuses, bamboos, magnolias, and the other exotic plants. This town of “the eternal greenery, sun and promenades” was described by the Nobel Prize recipient Ivo Andric, who like many other writers, “spent the autumn of his life” in Herceg Novi.
