Where is Montenegro

Montenegro (Crna Gora, ) is a small country located in Southern Europe on the Coast of the Adriatic Sea. It borders with Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.

In the majority of its surface is mountainous country, occupied by bands of the Dinaric Alps with breathtaking views, warm sea and only in this region of Europe – fjord – Bay of Boka.

History of Montenegro

Montenegro has a very different story. The first settlers who lived in these lands was the Illyrian tribe Duklja. In 395 BC Montenegro became a part of the empire Roman. The Slavs first came to the area in the sixth century, but the country still remained under the influence of Byzantium. Only in the twelfth century became part of the state Serbian.

The fifteenth century is another lasting almost three centuries of domination Turkey.
